VP Kamala Harris visits 'All the Smoke'
From HBCUs and stepparenting to George Floyd and explaining how laws pass, she discusses a lot for active and beginner voters
I have mixed opinions of “All the Smoke.” I think Matt Barnes is an impressive interviewer, but I also have examples where both he and Stak made me cringe. (I watched “The Barnes Brunch” and winced more than few times — and not just from the 1,000,000 times the phrase “engagement party” came up.)

As an Amazon affiliate, I earn a percentage from purchases with my referral links. I know some consumers are choosing to boycott Amazon for its DEI removal. However, after thinking about this thoroughly, I choose to continue promoting intriguing products from small businesses, women-owned businesses and (specifically) Black-owned businesses who still feature their items on Amazon. All five of my Substack publications now include a MINIMUM of one product sold by a Black-owned business. (I have visited the seller’s official site, not just the Amazon Black-owned logo, to verify this.) If you still choose to boycott, I 100% respect that decision.

These two are not the first place I think women politicians (or women at all) should visit. (I leaped to Amazon for their book though. I may not always agree with them, but I’m sure this’ll be good.) Additionally, I think this interview was incredibly smart for undecided voters — especially black men who aren’t sold on her.
Like the interview with Luke in the barbershop, she’s comfortable sitting around with people who I would’ve seen on an HBCU campus. I love to see it, and she did well (even when Stak was clearly rolling his eyes a couple of times). I could be wrong, but I think Stak respected her a little more by the end, specifically when she asked about George Floyd’s daughter.
